SUNDAY TRIBUNE RELAUNCH

15
Aug, 2010

The Sunday Tribune will relaunch next month in “compact” form to cut costs and attempt to hinder the march of the Mail on Sunday, the Sunday Times reports. The irony is, of course, the rationale employed by Independent News & Media for propping up the loss-making title for years has been an attempt to stymie the increased popularity of the Sunday Times!

The new-look Trib will retain its current editorial values but will introduce a new glossy magazine targeted at the kind of female readers the Mail on Sunday has been focusing on in its bid to drive growth. Having failed in its first objective, it appears the Indo is now training its guns on a threat to both its daily and weekend hegemony.
