SELF ASSESSMENT AMENDMENT

06
Sep, 2010

Taxpayers will be able to amend their tax returns this year after they have been submitted, The Sunday Business Post reports.

The Revenue has revamped its online service to allow people who use the self-assessment facility to amend most fields in Form 11, including those that will automatically trigger a new notice of assessment that informs taxpayers of their total tax liability for the year for which the return is being made.

There is no such facility for those who do not use the online service. The amendments will be allowed for returns relating to 2009 and onwards, with a maximum of two separate amendments available.
