Three weeks after its launch in Ireland, consumers are still finding it difficult to get a hold of an iPad as retailers struggle to keep up with demand.

The Sunday Times reports stores are regularly sold out of the device and retailers admitted they underestimated potential demand.

“A lot of people are buying them for Christmas already because they are worried that if they leave it too late they might not be able to get one,” according to Maya Letkova, an assistant manager of a Compu B branch in Grafton St, Dublin.
