What the Sunday Times calls “the worst-kept secret in the Irish mobile phone industry” is to be officially announced next month, when Eircom launches its own mobile phone brand. Eircom, which owns Meteor and sells corporate mobile packages under Eircom Mobile, is to target higher- spending, bill-paying customers, according to the newspaper.
The company has already patented the name and logo for eMobile and is recruiting staff for flagship stores in Blanchardstown shopping centre and Henry Street in Dublin. Retail workers are to start three weeks of training today (Monday) for the launch.
