VIRTUAL JOB INTERVIEWS

17
May, 2010

Ireland’s biggest jobs site, Irishjobs.ie, has signed a deal with a technology company which will provide it with the software to allow companies to conduct virtual interviews. Irish technology firm Sonru.com has also sold the technology to other companies such as Eircom and eBay, the online auctioneering company whose European headquarters are in Dublin.
The Sunday Times said the technology worked best for language jobs but people could also demonstrate their technological skills online by using the service. It works by allowing employers to screen large numbers of candidates by assessing their answers to a number of questions via online video. The employer records the questions, candidates click on the job on the Irishjobs web site and they are giving a limited time to record their answers.
