TV LICENCES

They may have heard all the excuses and we know none of them work but TV licence inspectors may about to have an even bigger incentive to knock on more doors, according to The Sunday Business Post.

It seems An Post, which collects the TV licence money, is about to link the pay of inspectors to the number of people they manage to catch, in a bid to make them more productive. At present, it is estimated that one in eight people liable for payment are not stumping up the €160 annual fee.

It would also appear that inspectors will spend more of their time calling at nights and on weekends, when they are likely to find more people home.
