Good news on the employment front in one sector at least. Citing “informed sources”, The Sunday Business Post says hundreds of jobs will be announced in the technology sector in the coming days, with the investment taking place outside Dublin.

“It is understood the project is by a new investor in Ireland, although this investor is not Twitter, which is still finalising a decision about the location of its European base,” the newspaper reports.

Almost 2,000 jobs were announced in the first two months of the year, according to IDA Ireland. Also, many established firms are expanding without announcing additional jobs, so the number is actually higher.
