Intel Ireland is preparing to make 500 people redundant at its plant in Kildare, according to The Sunday Times. The jobs in Fab 10, the semi-conductor plant that opened in Leixlip in 1993, are under threat as the chipmaker migrates customers to more modern options.
When asked to comment, Intel described the talks about jobs as “speculation”. Intel currently employs more than 4,000 people in Kildare and Shannon.
