DISNEY IS COMING TO DUBLIN

May, 2010

Entertainment giant Disney has offered to buy the lease on the Laura Ashley store in Grafton Street in Dublin, according to the Sunday Tribune. Disney is currently expanding the number of stores in its portfolio world-wide – it is hoping to add at least 20 new outlets in Europe and North America, including one in Donegall Place in Belfast.
A Disney store on Grafton Street would be a major boost for the area – the street has suffered badly from the downturn in the economy with the closure of several high profile outlets over the past 18 months. Disney was previously rumoured to have made a seven-figure offer for the Dunnes Stores shop on the street but the deal was never completed and Dunnes subsequently closed down.
