Apple will report another bumper quarter this week after selling an estimated 8m iPads in the run-up to Christmas – around 15.5m since its launch last year, The Sunday Times reports.

And typically, the computer giant is not content to rest on its considerable laurels. A new model due out shortly will be thinner and contains a built-in camera for making video calls.

The company’s share price has doubled in the past 16  months and is now worth €240 billion, second only to Exxon Mobil as America’s most valuable company.
