A new nanotechnology laboratory at Trinity College in Dublin has already won €3m worth of research contracts against competition from overseas, according The Sunday Business Post.

The new lab cost €12m to develop and is equipped with some of the most powerful microscopes in the world.

Despite the initial success, funding is due to run out in 18 months and it will need further funding and business contracts to make it viable.
